art > Charted breaths.

Antique engraving with applied glow paint, glass vial with lost and gathered stars, 2002-12 (mapped periods from "Sexual Personae: Art & Decadence from Nefertiti to Emily Dickinson" By Camille Paglia, Chapter 6, "Spenser and Apollo- The Faerie Queene", pages 170-193. (Over time and with careless storage some of the periods/stars have disengaged from the engraving. These lost stars have been carefully collected and placed in a small, 1.5 inch glass vial. This vial once contained my favorite perfume, one that I wear daily and is my personal, signature scent. The vial still carries the essence of this scent. all this, now, an essential part of this work.)

the dots are not merely random dots. they never are in my work. they are diabolically, meticulously mapped/templated periods from various text. they are often represented as stars or jeweled breaths, rhinestone. they are not decoration but devised innuendos imposed upon images or fields of darkness.

all materials are re-purposed, therefor, all conditions that remain are intentional and purposeful to the concept and poetics of the assemblage.
